Kim Schoolfield has been the head cheer and dance coach at Lander University since 2007. However, she has been a member of the Lander family since 1996 when she was accepted as an undergraduate student. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Lander in 1999 and her M.Ed. from Lander in 2004. Kim was a middle school teacher and cheer coach in her hometown of Clinton, SC before to returning to Lander in January 2007.
During her time as the coach at Lander, her teams have won 3 Peach Belt Dance Conference Championships, 3 Cheer Ltd CANAM College National Dance Championships, a Clash of the Carolinas All Girl Cheer Championship, several 1st Runner Up Cheer Awards at regional competitions, and most most recently a 3rd Place finish at National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals in Daytona, FL.
When they are not training for competitions, performing at basketball games, fundraising, serving the community, or making appearances, Kim's teams focus on leadership development and preparing for life after college.
Kim enjoys reading, playing with her pets, and spending time with her family. She is married to David Schoolfield from Camden, SC. He and their son, Eli, are also actively involved in the Lander University Spirit Program.
